Firefighters Saved a Kitten. Years Later, She Saved Them The house was empty. Everyone was out. Then Marcus heard a tiny cry inside the smoke. Under the stairs, he found a kitten, barely breathing. He gave her oxygen with a tiny mask on the back of the truck. And she opened her eyes. Nobody came to claim her. So the crew took her home. To the fire station. They named her Ember. She slept in Marcus's helmet and rode on the truck's dashboard. Years passed. Ember became part of the crew. One night, at three a.m., the whole crew was asleep upstairs.
