Grandma Kept a Piece of Everything I Wore Every time I outgrew a piece of clothing, Grandma asked for it. Just a little square. My first dress. My school uniform. My soccer shirt. Snip. She kept them all in a wooden chest. She never told me why. As a teenager, I thought it was weird. Grandma, you're cutting holes in my clothes. She just laughed. You'll see one day. Grandma passed away the winter before my wedding. She never got to see it. On my wedding morning, Mom brought me a big box with Grandma's handwriting on it. Inside was a quilt. Made of every single square she had ever cut. My first dress. My uniform. My soccer shirt. My whole life, stitched together. In the corner, she had stitched a little note. So you'll always be wrapped in every moment I loved you. Hug your grandma today. Comment GRANDMA.
