Kindness Comes Back: The Water Bottles

She Left Cold Water for the Delivery Drivers Every summer day, Lina put a cooler of cold water outside her tiny bakery. Free, for delivery drivers. The shop next door laughed. You can barely pay your rent, and you're giving things away? She just smiled. It's only water. Three summers. Thousands of bottles. Brown uniforms, red, blue, yellow. Everyone knew the pink awning. Then one morning, the biggest order of her life. A three-tier wedding cake, due at noon. And her old van wouldn't start. Every taxi said no. A cake that size could break in a minute. Then a brown van stopped. Sam leaned out. Need a ride? He'd already made one call. A red van blocked the traffic. A blue one led the way. Six drivers carried that cake up the hotel stairs like it was made of glass. It arrived at eleven fifty-nine. Perfect. Sam just said: It's only water, right? Has a small kindness ever come back to you? Comment KINDNESS.
