Boys Trapped in a Flooded Cave Twelve boys and their coach were trapped four kilometers inside a flooded cave. No one knew if they were alive. This really happened, in June 2018, in Thailand. A young football team went into a cave after practice. Then heavy rain came. The water rose fast, and blocked the way out. For nine days, nobody could reach them. They drank water dripping from the rocks. Then two British divers came up out of the water. All thirteen were alive. But getting out meant diving through kilometers of dark, narrow tunnels. And the boys couldn't swim well. Divers from all over the world came to help. A brave former Navy SEAL, Saman Kunan, lost his life bringing them air. Over three days, divers carried the boys out, one by one, through the water. On July tenth, the last boy and the coach came out. All thirteen survived. All of them. Twelve boys and their coach were trapped four kilometers inside a flooded cave.
